Bengaluru: The Janata Dal (Secular) received a political boost with the induction of Hoodi Vijay Kumar and his supporters into the party, with JDS Youth Wing State President Nikhil Kumaraswamy stating that the move will strengthen the party not only in the Malur Assembly constituency but across Karnataka.
Speaking after formally inducting Vijay Kumar into the party, Nikhil said the JDS is steadily building its organisational strength and that the new entrantโs decision reflects growing confidence in the partyโs leadership and ideology.
Malur Political Review After Kolar LS Polls
Referring to the recent Lok Sabha elections in the Kolar constituency, Nikhil noted that Mallesh Babu had won the seat but expressed dissatisfaction over the margin recorded in the Malur segment. According to him, the lead in Malur should have exceeded 70,000 votes.
He said the party would review the reasons behind the lower-than-expected margin and hinted that certain individuals must introspect about the outcome.
Deve Gowdaโs Social Justice Legacy
Nikhil emphasised that several communities which were historically neglected politically were empowered by former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, whose commitment to social justice continues to guide the party.
He said leaders like Hoodi Vijay Kumar have joined JDS because of their belief in this ideology, adding that the party will continue to expand on the foundation of social justice and inclusive politics.
