CM seeks Central nod for DRDO lab in Shivamogga
Land for defence lab will be provided by state: Yediyurappa
NEW DELHI :
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, on a visit to the capital, urged Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to sanction an independent laboratory of Defence Research Development Organisation ( DRDO ) in Shivamogga.
The Ministry of Defence has considered a proposal for a research cell of DRDO at Kuvempu University. But the state was expecting a full-fledged independent DRDO laboratory in Shivamogga, the CM said.

Yediyurappa pointed out that the laboratory could explore natural remedies for military use from the Western Ghats region. He said the land for the laboratory and its staff quarters would be provided by the state government.
