Fuel Prices Hiked for Fourth Time Since Iran War Began; Petrol Crosses ₹110 in Bengaluru
Bengaluru, May 25: Fuel prices have been increased once again across Karnataka, marking the fourth consecutive hike since the Iran war began, further adding pressure on consumers already struggling with rising living costs.
According to the latest Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) price revision shared by the AKFPT Team, petrol, diesel and XP95 prices witnessed a sharp increase between May 24 and May 25, 2026.
Petrol prices increased from ₹108.05 per litre to ₹110.89 per litre, registering a steep hike of ₹2.84 per litre. Diesel prices rose from ₹95.99 per litre to ₹98.80 per litre, reflecting an increase of ₹2.81 per litre.
Similarly, XP95 premium petrol prices climbed from ₹117.54 per litre to ₹120.37 per litre, witnessing a rise of ₹2.83 per litre.
The latest revision comes amid continuing global crude oil uncertainty linked to the ongoing Iran conflict, which has triggered repeated fuel price increases over the last several days.
With the latest revision, fuel prices in Bengaluru have now been increased four times since tensions escalated in the Middle East, raising concerns over transportation costs, inflation and the impact on daily commuters.
Transport operators and motorists have expressed concern over the continuous rise in fuel prices, stating that repeated hikes are likely to affect essential commodity prices and overall household expenses.
Industry observers believe the continuing geopolitical tensions and fluctuations in international crude oil markets could lead to further volatility in fuel prices in the coming days.
