Bengaluru: A shocking incident has come to light in Bengaluru’s Hennur police limits, where the decomposed body of a 22-year-old pregnant woman, identified as Suman, was found inside a rented house in Thanisandra. Her husband, Shivam, who allegedly stayed in the same room with the body for nearly two days, is currently absconding.

According to police sources, the couple hailed from Uttar Pradesh and had been living in the area for the past three months. Suman, who was pregnant, stayed home while Shivam worked as a painter.

Three days ago, Suman reportedly died under mysterious circumstances. However, her husband did not inform the neighbors or the police. Instead, he is believed to have remained in the house, drinking alcohol, eating egg bhurji, and sleeping next to the deceased.

On Wednesday afternoon, neighbors started noticing a foul smell from the house. When they broke open the door with suspicion, they were horrified to discover the woman’s body in a decomposed state. By then, Shivam had fled the scene.

Police officials have confirmed that there were no visible injury marks on the body, but there was blood oozing from the nose, which has raised suspicions. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

“This case is highly disturbing. A man staying with the body of his dead wife for two days, without raising any alarm, indicates serious psychological or criminal concerns,” said a senior officer. Hennur police have launched a manhunt for Shivam and are collecting all available leads.
