Karnataka govt announces doubling salary of guest lecturers in colleges
Among staff in Bengaluru govt degree colleges, over 80% are inoculated
BENGALURU:
The Department of College Education has vaccinated 51.12% of students and staff in government degree colleges, DyCM and state Covid task force head Dr CN Ashwath Narayan stated on Friday.
The city comprises 8 BBMP zones and the total number of students and staff in government and aided degree colleges is 62,255. Of these, 31,826 have been vaccinated as of July 8, Narayan said.
Among the students, 31,147 have been vaccinated out of 59,179, which translates to 52.63%, while among the staff, 2,518 have got the jab as against 3,076, which translates to 81.86%, Narayan noted.
