A total of 5,30,85,566 people will vote in the elections to Karnataka Legislative Assembly on May 10. As per Manoj Kumar Meena, Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka has enrolled 16,04,285 first time voters.
Following the declaration of calendar of events related to elections by Election Commission of India (ECI) on Mar. 29, enrolment of names in the voter list was allowed till Apr 20. Male voters have surpassed female voters in the list, with 2,66,82,156 male voters enrolled against 2,63,98,483 female voters and 4,927 others, he said.

‘Vote from Home’ to be held from April 29-May 6
Meena said the EC will begin voting from home from April 29 which will be completed by May 6. Around 80,250 people aged above 80 and 19,279 with physical disabilities have chosen the Vote from Home option.
