Karnataka now has 62 cases
BENGALURU:
A 10-month-old male child from Dakshina Kannada district, with no travel history to any foreign country, has been infected with Covid-19. A state health department bulletin on Friday said neither the child nor any of his family members has any travel history to any Covid-19 affected country.
The boy has been listed as patient number 56. The health department bulletin said: “A10- month-old male child from Dakshina Kannada has no history of travel to Covid-19 affected countries and is isolated at a designated hospital in Dakshina Kannada. As per the preliminary investigation, the child was taken to Kerala by family members. A detailed investigation is under process and 6 primary contacts have been traced and are under home quarantine.”
Another two maids infected
As per the health bulletin, two housemaids have been infected. The two housemaids had come in contact with patient number 25 who had a history of travel to London. Patient number 25, a 51-year-old male, had returned to Bengaluru on March 13. He has 6 primary and 10 secondary contacts.
The two housemaids have been named as special numbers 59 and 61. The bulletin reads: “P59: 35-year-old female, resident of Bengaluru and contact of P25 (housemaid).The case is isolated at a designated hospital in Bengaluru. Similarly P61: 33-year-old female, resident of Bengaluru, and contact of P25 (housemaid). The case is isolated at a designated hospital in Bengaluru.”
Details of other cases
P57: A 20-year-old male, resident of Bengaluru, had a history of travel to Colombo and arrived in India on 15th March. He is isolated at a designated hospital in Bengaluru.
P58: A 25-year-old female, resident of Bengaluru, had a history of travel to London and arrived in India on 18th March. She is isolated at a designated hospital in Bengaluru.
(Patient 60 is a resident of Tumkur district who died early on Friday morning.)
P62: A 22-year-old male, resident of Uttara Kannada, had a history of travel to Dubai. He is isolated at a designated hospital in Uttara Kannada.
