She had accused him of assault; his complaint is registered under several IPC sections
BENGALURU:
Encouraged by the outpouring of social media support from the likes of Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and Sandalwood actress Sanjjanna Galrani, the Zomato delivery man who was recently accused of assault by a female model and content creator has filed a police complaint against her.
The complaint has been filed in the same Electronics City police station which had registered the assault complaint of Hitesha Chandranee, who had also uploaded a video showing herself with a bleeding nose.
The Zomato man, Kamaraj, was arrested and released on bail, and is now under temporary suspension from Zomato.

Chandranee had said in the video that the order she had placed through Zomato was delayed. She was reportedly talking to a customer care executive about this when the delivery person ‘hit’ her and left, leaving her bleeding.
The two versions of the incident have divided twitterati along emotional and even regional lines.

After the delivery agent’s complaint, a case has been registered against the woman under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 341 (wrongful restraint), 355 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour person) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).
