NEW DELHI: A 32-year-old woman died after being stabbed by her husband multiple times in Delhi’s Maujpur area, police said. The victim identified as Nisha was stabbed multiple times by her husband Sajid, they said.
The police received a PCR call around 1 am on September 11 of the incident that took place in Vijay Mohalla, Maujpur.
As per the initial investigation by the police, Sajid, who is currently unemployed and previously ran a mobile repair shop, suspected his wife of infidelity and during an altercation he stabbed to death his wife.
After the incident, the woman was rushed to GTB Hospital, where she was declared dead. Stab injuries were found on her neck, chest, and left hand, police said.
During the incident, the couple’s two daughters, aged 11 and 7, were both present at home. The elder daughter, aged 11 years, sustained an injury to her hand when she tried to rescue her mother.
The accused man has been apprehended, and the knife used in the crime has been recovered, police said. Further investigation into the case is underway. (ANI)
