HUBBALLI: A woman, who was allegedly in an illicit relationship with a man, was beaten with footwear and a brick by the man, his wife and other family members near KIMS Hospital here. Several videos of the street fight have gone viral on social media.

The woman who was assaulted is working at KIMS Hospital as an ayah for the last 10 years. She was allegedly in a relationship with a man and would torment him, according to his family members. Fed up of this, the wife and other family members confronted her behind the hospital and thrashed her with footwear and a brick in full public view.

The victim’s sister, who came to her rescue, was also severely assaulted. The Vidyanagar police later arrived on the scene took them all to the police station for inquiry.
