RAICHUR: A woman committed suicide by jumping off the Swadhar Grah Centre building allegedly after her boyfriend refused her marriage proposal at Deva Colony of Raichur.
The woman had gone to the police station over her love affair, but later committed suicide on Saturday due to depression.
The woman has been identified as Anuradha (19) of Jalala Nagar in the city. She suffered severe injuries after jumping off the building, and was rushed to RIMS Hospital in Raichur. But she died today without responding to treatment.

Anuradha, had fallen in love with Vinay Reddy. On June20, she went to the Market Yard police station requesting the police to solemnise her marriage with Vinay and sought protection from her family as they were opposed to the marriage. Hence, the police sent her to the Swadhar Grah Centre.
The woman’s family has alleged that she committed suicide after her boyfriend refused to marry her. The incident took place under western police station limits, and the family members have decided to register a case against the man.
