BENGALURU:

In a heart-wrenching incident, a woman and her live-in partner tragically took their own lives by setting themselves ablaze at their residence in the Kothanur police station limits in Bengaluru. The authorities reported this devastating news on Monday.

The deceased individuals have been identified as 20-year-old Soumini Das from West Bengal and 29-year-old Abhil Abraham from Kerala. According to the police, they poured petrol on themselves and ignited the fire. This horrific incident occurred on Sunday.

Police investigations have revealed that Soumini Das, who was married, had been pursuing her nursing studies in Bengaluru when she met Abhil Abraham, who worked at a nursing home. They developed a relationship and eventually decided to move in together to a flat in Doddagubbi village on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Soumini Das had informed her husband that she could no longer continue living with him and wanted to spend her life with her new partner.

On Sunday afternoon, Soumini Das received a call from her husband, and the events that transpired afterwards remain unknown. Neighbors reported hearing noises and screams coming from the couple’s residence. Unfortunately, by the time they rushed to their aid, Soumini Das had already suffered fatal burns.

Abhil Abraham was immediately transferred to Victoria Hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his burn injuries on Sunday night. The Kothanur police have initiated an investigation into this heartbreaking incident.
