BENGALURU: A woman has claimed that she is a victim of love jihad in a series of posts on the social media platform X. She has also tagged the state DG&IGP, the city police commissioner and the PMO.
In a series of post, the social media user who goes by the handle @artiniart1 on X, “Sir I am victim of love jihad, rape, un-natural sex and forceful religious conversion kindly provide me police help in Bangalore immediately as my life is in danger I will visit nearest police station bellendur tomorrow morning . It’s within 2 kms, and give application @dcpwhitefield @bellandurubcp”.
When the police tried to reach out to her, the woman’s phone was switched off. On Thursday evening, the posts also seemed to have been deleted from the user’s timeline.
Additional Police Commissioner Raman Gupta said the victim has not lodged a complaint yet.
Additional Police Commissioner Raman Gupta said, “So far, we have not received any complaint at the police station. If a complaint is lodged, we can take immediate action. Our officers have contacted the person and offered help. The victim said she is mulling over the issue. If a complaint is lodged, we will take necessary action. We have come to know that she is a techie. She said will consult her lawyers regarding registering a complaint”.
