Karnataka app provides for giving info on stranded persons in Russia’s neighbour
BENGALURU:
In less than 12 hours of Russia declaring war against neighbouring Ukraine on Thursday, the Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority has created a web portal to compile relevant information on stranded Indian citizens in Ukraine, especially those from Karnataka.
Karnataka nodal officer Dr Manoj Rajan said the website can also be accessed on mobile phones. The purpose of the website is to collect relevant information on stranded people in Ukraine who hail from Karnataka. The URL is http://ukraine.karnataka.tech
App’s features
The app provides for the following:
- Giving information of stranded persons. One needs to provide details of the informant, relation with the stranded person and the stranded person’s details.
- Relevant information collected from the MEA website and Government of India.
- Relevant contact numbers and email of:
a. Government of India
b. Government of Karnataka
c. Indian embassy at Ukraine
d. Helpline
- News Updates
Information collected from the app will be sent to the control room of MEA. The control room of KSDMA will talk to the informants, giving the latest updates, and will collect information as required, Dr Rajan said.
