BENGALURU:

With the growing popularity of its luxury Fly Bus service, KSRTC had planned a KIA-Anantapur service from March 13. But the corona virus scare has forced KSRTC to postpone the service to April 1.

The virus scare has caused a decline in passenger numbers, even as Fly Bus fares have been cut. For example, a ticket from the airport to Mysuru via the 46-seater Fly Bus is now Rs. 750 from the earlier Rs. 800.

The Fly Bus service was launched in 2013 between KIA and Mysuru. Over the last few years, Madikeri, Kundapur, Coimbatore via Salem and Tirupati have been added. Eight high-end buses run 16 round trips between KIA and Mysuru every day.
