A city-based school, Kumarans School, is the first to cancel all its programmes amidst fears over Covid-19.
A message sent to all parents, accessed by thebengalurulive, reads: “Dear Parents, UKG graduation day scheduled on March 6 and 7 is postponed in view of the corona virus outbreak. We are monitoring the situation closely and the time may not be conducive for large gatherings. We will update you later with new dates. Regards.”
Meanwhile, Associated Managements Of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka (KAMS) has advised school managements to treat the situation with responsibility and follow stipulated guidelines.
It is a routine practice in most schools that students with any viral, contagious or allergic ailments are not allowed to attend and are advised to get medical attention. Now, the same is to be followed with extra care in the background of the corona virus alert, says KAMS.
KAMS secretary Shashi Kumar D said, “Don’t create panic and be alert to fake messages and news with respect to Covid-19 from the social media or any other platform without valid clarification from appropriate authorities.”
