Vijayapura Tikota Police Constable Exam: KEA Clarifies OMR and Question Paper Serial Numbers Need Not Match
Bengaluru, Aug. 2: The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has clarified that the serial numbers printed on OMR answer sheets and question paper booklets in the Civil Police Constable Recruitment Examination are not required to match, dismissing misinformation being circulated on social media following the examination held across the State on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by KEA, the Civil Police Constable Recruitment Examination was conducted smoothly across Karnataka. However, confusion arose after some individuals at the examination centre in Tikota, Vijayapura district, claimed on social media that the serial numbers on the OMR answer sheet and the question paper booklet were different.
Responding to the claims, KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna clarified that at no stage has the Authority stated in any notification, instructions or examination guidelines that the serial numbers on the OMR answer sheet and the question paper booklet must be identical.
The Authority explained that while the OMR answer sheet and the question paper booklet are issued together as a single examination set, each carries its own independent serial number. Therefore, the serial numbers printed on the OMR sheet and the question paper booklet are not expected to be the same.
KEA urged candidates and the public not to believe rumours or misleading information being circulated on social media regarding the examination process. It appealed to aspirants to rely only on official communications issued by the Authority.
