Victoria Hospital’s housekeeping staff demand better conditions

BENGALURU:

Housekeeping staff on contract at Victoria Hospital staged a protest on Monday demanding basic facilities.

Among their demands were a  proper quarantine facility, insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh under the Prime Minister’s Garib Kalyan scheme, and bathing/changing facilities at the hospital.

They pointed out that several contract workers have been infected in the course of duty. They are not paid minimum wages despite having worked for several years, they said.
