COVID-19: Bengaluru logs biggest one-day spike of 10,497 cases
BENGALURU:
On the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi, Karnataka witnessed 7,626 discharges and 7,330 fresh Covid infections in the last 24 hours, as reported by the state health and family welfare department on Saturday evening.
Karnataka’s case tally is now 2,71,876, of which 1,84,568 have been discharged so far. The state has 82,677 active cases who are receiving treatment in Covid hospitals.
The bulletin also claims that 727 patients are in ICUs statewide, with as many as 335 in Bengaluru followed by 52 in Hassan.
Saturday saw 93 deaths, of which Bengaluru accounted for 27. No deaths were reported from Bengaluru Rural, Chitradurga, Kolar, Haveri, Kodagu, Mysuru and Udupi. So far, the state’s death toll stands at 4,615.
District-wise, the highest number of infections was 2, 979 in Bengaluru, followed by 533 in Bellary, 348 in Udupi and 312 in Belagavi.
