BELAGAVI: The police have arrested a woman, her daughter and minor son for murdering another woman in an apartment in the city. The victim had allegedly demanded repayment of Rs 15,000 from the accused.

The accused, Jyoti Bandekar, Suhani Bandekar and the minor son, were arrested for killing Anjana Daddikar on April 22 in an apartment at Ganeshpur. The accused had stolen the victim’s gold ornaments to mislead the police and fled the scene.

The murder occurred after Anjana demanded repayment of a loan of Rs 15,000 from the accused, leading to an altercation and physical assault. The victim suffered head injuries during the clash and died. The accused then stole her gold ornaments to protect the children and to avoid suspicion. She even created an alibi to show that she was not in town on the day of the incident.

The police arrested the accused based on CCTV footage and are currently questioning them.
