Bengaluru: Textile PLI investments in Karnataka reached ₹1,515.99 crore across six participating companies, with 5,611 jobs recorded up to March 31, 2026, Minister for Textiles Rudrappa Lamani said on Thursday. He cited information furnished by the Union Ministry of Textiles in the Lok Sabha. Karnataka ranked second among states in both investment and employment under the Production Linked Incentive scheme.
The state government will run a facilitation campaign to help eligible textile and apparel companies apply under the Centre’s revised PLI framework, Lamani said. Under the revised norms, the minimum turnover requirement in the scheme’s second category has been reduced from ₹200 crore to ₹100 crore.
Applications for eligible man-made fibre apparel, man-made fibre fabrics and technical textiles are scheduled to be accepted from November 1 to December 31, 2026. The scheme period for companies selected in the fourth round has been extended through financial year 2033–34, according to the announcement.
Commerce and Industries Secretary Rohini Sindhuri said the state would guide eligible applicants and hold interactions and application-support sessions in Bengaluru and other textile clusters. The facilitation effort is intended to help companies understand the revised requirements and submit applications within the stated window.
Karnataka’s textile policy for 2026–31 carries an outlay of ₹4,000 crore and sets targets of ₹20,000 crore in investment and five lakh jobs over five years. These are policy targets; the figures are separate from the investments and jobs reported under the central PLI scheme through March 31, 2026.
