Bengaluru: Television actress Manjula alias Shruthi, known for her roles in popular Kannada serials such as Amruthadhaare, was allegedly stabbed by her husband Ambarish in a shocking incident that took place in Muneshwara Layout, Bengaluru, on July 4. The incident has come to light only recently.

According to police sources, the couple had been facing severe marital discord in recent months. Shruthi, who had been staying at her brother’s house since April due to ongoing disputes, was allegedly attacked after an attempt at reconciliation went awry.

Shruthi and Ambarish were married for over 20 years and have two daughters. Ambarish, a former auto driver, reportedly had issues with Shruthi’s professional commitments and her conduct, leading to frequent quarrels. Financial disagreements, including disputes over leased property and gold jewellery given during the marriage, further strained their relationship.

The couple had reportedly tried to resolve their differences, and Shruthi had agreed to return home. However, a heated argument broke out shortly after, during which Ambarish allegedly stabbed Shruthi with a knife.
