Bengaluru: Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Select Committee on the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025 by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The committee will have 24 Members of Parliament overseeing the legislative review.

The Jan Vishwas Bill 2025, tabled in the Lok Sabha on August 18, proposes amendments to 17 Central Acts aimed at reducing compliance burden, rationalising penalties, and enhancing trust between citizens, businesses, and the government.

Taking to social media, Surya expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Speaker Om Birla, and Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Piyush Goyal for entrusting him with the responsibility.

“I look forward to carrying out this role with full commitment to shaping a Bill that simplifies lives, builds trust, and fuels entrepreneurial growth,” Surya posted.

He added that the Bill is aligned with PM Modi’s vision of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’, and is a significant reform to boost India’s Ease of Doing Business and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
