Submersion of Ganesh idols in tanks, lakes barred

In conformity with the latest Central guidelines continuing the ban on large gatherings, BBMP Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad has issued an order banning installation of Ganesh idols in public places. Anyone violating the order is liable to be arrested under the National Disaster Management Act.

In addition, no tanks will be set aside by BBMP for submersion of Ganesh idols, and neither will submersion of idols be allowed in city lakes.
