New Delhi:
The chairperson of the National Executive Committee has sent a letter to all states’ chief secretaries stressing that all restrictions that have been imposed in various sectors, and on various activities, will continue to remain in force with the extension of the lockdown.
In the letter, the chairperson has referred to the Prime Minister’s address to the nation on Tuesday, wherein he announced that the nationwide lockdown will be extended till May 3.
The letter says the restrictions spelt out in the consolidated guidelines of the MHA must be enforced strictly by all ministries/departments of the Government of India, and by state/Union Territory governments and authorities.
It is emphasized that as per the orders issued by MHA under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the states/Union Territories cannot dilute the restrictions imposed by the guidelines.
It also refers to an order by the National Disaster Management Authority to all ministries/departments of the Government of India, state governments and state authorities to continue the measures for social distancing upto May 3.
