Minister says govt has done ‘enough’, puts ball in people’s court
CHITRADURGA:
‘God and masks’ seem to be Health Minister B Sriramulu’s twin mantras to tackle the deadly coronavirus! Speaking to the press here, he claimed the government had taken ‘enough precautions’ and it was upto citizens to do their part with preventive measures.
The minister rejected as ‘baseless’ the opposition’s allegation of a lack of coordination within the government in tackling the coronavirus.
Taking a dig at the Congress for raking up the issue, Sriramulu said its leaders should speak ‘responsibly’ at a time when the government is going all out to fight Covid-19.
He said the government is considering using mechanical devices for disposal of Covid victim’s bodies. The last rites of victims will not be performed within urban areas, and district administrations have been told to find land on the outskirts for the purpose.
