Even as law enforcers across the country had their task cut out persuading/warning citizens to stay indoors, in Bengaluru two cops were attacked when they tried to stop a speeding duo on Wednesday.
The constables attached to the Sanjaynagar police station tried to stop the bikers who were speeding past the Bhoopasandra checkpost and were also doing wheelies, but were themselves assaulted by the duo and their associates.
After a video of the incident went viral, the police registered a case against the duo and took them into custody.
Speaking to the media, Revenue Minister R Ashoka said, “The incident was not acceptable. I asked the police department to take action against the culprits and also register a case against their parents.”
