BENGALURU:
A speed fiend riding his superbike at around 300 kmph on the Electronics City flyover has been nabbed by the CCB police. The accused, Muniyappa (29), is a resident of Domlur and a native of Tamil Nadu.
On Saturday morning around 6.45 am, Muniyappa went for a joyride on his Yamaha 1,000 cc bike despite the lockdown imposed in Bengaluru. A selfie video which he uploaded on Instagram and Facebook came to the notice of Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner (Crime), who instructed his staff to trace the rider.
“This video made viral by the rider…going at a dangerous speed of almost 300 kmph at Ecity flyover putting his own & others life at risk..CCB traced the rider & seized bike Yamaha 1000 CC.. handed over to traffic (police),” Patil tweeted.

Muniyappa was nabbed on Tuesday, based on his IP address and bike registration number. The Electronics City traffic police have booked him for rash riding while the law and order police have booked him under the National Disaster Management Act for violating the lockdown rules.
Muniyappa (29) works in a networking company and stays in the city with his wife and child.
His bike,bearing registration number KA-03-JX-000, has been seized.
