Bengaluru, March 13: To manage the expected surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Ugadi festival, the South Western Railway (SWR) has announced the operation of special express train services between Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru and Belagavi.
According to railway officials, Train No. 06503/06504 SMVT Bengaluru–Belagavi–SMVT Bengaluru Express Special will be operated for one trip in each direction to facilitate festival travel for passengers across Karnataka.
Train No. 06503 will depart from Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru at 7:00 PM on March 18, 2026 (Wednesday) and will reach Belagavi at 7:35 AM the next day.
The return service, Train No. 06504, will depart from Belagavi at 5:30 PM on March 22, 2026 (Sunday) and will arrive at SMVT Bengaluru at 5:00 AM the following day.
During its journey, the special train will halt at several key stations including Chikbanavar, Tumakuru, Arsikere, Birur, Davangere, Harihar, SMM Haveri, SSS Hubballi, Dharwad, Alnavar, Londa and Khanapur in both directions.
Railway authorities said the train will consist of 19 coaches, including 2 AC 2-Tier coaches, 4 AC 3-Tier coaches, 7 Sleeper Class coaches, 4 General Second Class coaches and 2 SLRD coaches.
Officials added that the special service has been planned to ease travel pressure during the festive period and ensure smoother connectivity for passengers travelling for Ugadi celebrations across Karnataka.
