South Western Railway Removes 7 Multi-Storey Encroachments, Reclaims Land at Banasawadi Yard in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: South Western Railway’s Bengaluru Division has removed seven multi-storey encroachments from Railway land at Banasawadi Yard towards Hebbal, reclaiming 101.4 square metres of land in Bengaluru city.
The encroachments, located at Km 210/478–650, were removed between August 7 and August 9, 2026, through manual dismantling and mechanised demolition.
According to South Western Railway, the eviction was carried out in accordance with the orders of the Estate Officer and the court, following due legal process.
Adequate police personnel were deployed at the site during the operation to maintain law and order.
The Railway said the action was aimed at safeguarding its land from unauthorised occupation and ensuring its safe and proper utilisation for ongoing and future Railway projects in Bengaluru.
