Siddaramaiah recovers, to leave hospital tomorrow

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who was hospitalized a week ago after being infected by the coronavirus, has recovered and will be discharged from Manipal Hospital on Thursday.

Doctors at the hospital said that a second test was performed taking his throat swab and a blood sample. The results were negative. The doctors said he was symptomatic for only the first 2 days in hospital and was asymptomatic thereafter. Hence, it has been decided to discharge the former CM on Thursday.

Siddaramaiah was hospitalized in August 4 after testing Covid-19 positive. The former CM had tweeted: “I was admitted to the hospital without any symptoms. There is no cause for anxiety. Those who have been in contact with me for the past few days, I request them to get a corona test.”
