‘Shoot non-cooperating TJ returnees’

They have not heeded health test call: Renukacharya

DAVANAGERE:

Karnataka BJP leader Renukacharya has come down heavily on Tablighi Jamaat returnees who are yet to identify themselves to the authorities.

Responding to queries by journalists on Tuesday, Renukacharya said those who are not cooperating with the administration and getting their health check-up done “should be shot.”

Commenting on the Chief Minister’s warning of strict action against anyone targeting the entire minority community because of a few Tablighi Jamaat returnees who are not cooperating, he said, “The Chief Minister has issued the statement to maintain peace between the two communities, but a few of them have taken society to task.”

He said, “I do not blame the entire community — only a few are not cooperating. Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa have appealed to Tablighi Jamaat returnees to get their health check-up done but it is sad that they are not cooperating. Such people should be shot.”
