Four Tablighi Jamaat ‘positives’ takes Karnataka to 175

Four Tablighi Jamaat congregation attendees, including neighbour of Bagalkot deceased patient No 125 are amongst the 12 Covid-19 positive reported on a straight second day which took state total number to 175.

As per the media bulletin released by the Karnataka health and family welfare department, Mandya is now seen as another ‘hotspot’ after three Tablighi Jamaat attendees’ contacts have also been infected.

Health Minister B Sriramulu tweeted that 25 infected people have been discharged on recovery.

Details of the new Covid-(19 positive cases are as follows:

Patient 164: 33, male, Mudhol, Bagalkot. Attended TJ congregation from 13th to 18th March 2020 at Delhi

Patient 165: 41, female, Bagalkot. Neighbour of P125 (deceased).

Patient 166: 80, female, Gadag, with history of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI).

Patient 167: 29, male, BBMP, Bengaluru. Attended TJ congregation from 13th to 18th March 2020 at Delhi.

Patient 168: 50, male, BBMP, Bengaluru. Attended TJ congregation from 13th to 18th March 2020 at Delhi.

Patient 169: 35, male, Bengaluru Rural. Attended TJ congregation from 13th to 18th March 2020 at Delhi.

Patient 170: 68, male, BBMP, Bengaluru. Travel history of Dubai.

Patient 171: 32, male, Mandya. Contact with TJ cases of P134, P135, P136, P137 and P138.

Patient 172: 36, male, Mandya. Contact with TJ cases of P134, P135, P136, P137 and P138.

Patient 173: 65, male, Mandya. Contact with TJ cases of P134, P135, P136, P137 and P138.

Patient 174: 28, female, Kalaburagi. Contact of P124 (daughter-in-law).

Patient 175: 57, male, Kalaburagi. With history of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI).
