But they and local contacts to be watched for another 14 days
The state authorities can breathe a sigh of relief as approximately 19,948 overseas returnees completed their 14-day home quarantine period on Tuesday. But the government cannot afford to relax as they and their local contacts have to be under observation for the next 14 days.
Primary and Secondary Education minister S Suresh Kumar, who is tasked with briefing the media on Covid-19 cases, gave out the figures on Tuesday.
