SHIMOGA:
The miscreants pelted stones during a procession held on the occasion of Eid Milad in Ragigudda area of Shantinagar, in Shimoga. Section 144 has been enforced in the area.
Rapid Action Force has been deployed. Shimoga Superintendet of Police GK Mithun Kumar visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
Shimoga District Collector (Deputy Commissioner) Selvamani has ordered Section 144 to be implemented in Ragigudda area of Shantinagar as a precautionary measure against the backdrop of stone pelting during Eid Milad celebrations.
A Tipu Sultan cutout has been installed at Ragigud-Shantinagar. Police had painted white on the background where there was objectionable material at the bottom of the cutout of Tipu. Angered by this, Shantinagar residents of Ragigudda pelted stones at the police.
