Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in Bengaluru stated today that more than 43 persons have been detained in relation to the violence. And, things are now calm. “Some miscreants began throwing stones, which resulted in some police officers being hurt as well. The police were forced to use lathicharge as a result. Stone-throwing and violent behavior have been the subject of cases, and our administration will not stand for such behavior. To keep the calm, the police have taken action, the officer claimed,” he said.
The CM also refuted claims that outsiders were responsible for the violence. He continued, “The situation is now under control and I appeal to people to uphold peace.”
More than seven Hindu homes were damaged in the incident, resulting in significant damages, and several persons were also hurt. At the city’s McGann Hospital, they are receiving care. Stones were also thrown at several vehicles, including autorickshaws and autos.
According to the locals, individuals who threw stones had their faces veiled and appeared intent on killing people. Over 500 persons, some of whom had their faces covered in green cloth, allegedly barged into Ragigudda and began hurling stones at the terrified locals. Hindu households in the vicinity have asked for protection and asked authorities to take action against the violent offenders.
