Yes, you read it right. The South Western Railways has decided to provide facility of two-wheeler pick-up from any location in Bengaluru which also includes packing, booking and transporting facility to desired destination.
This gives much relief to those who were frequently searching for different options to pack their bikes.
SWR has issued license to Bharat Packers and Allied Services for packing and transporting two-wheelers. The packing facility is available at KSR Bengaluru and Yeshvantpur Railway Stations, with optional pick-up service has also been fixed up.
Fixed reasonable rates are being charged from customers to provide good and sturdy packing. Customers also have the option of bike collection from their residence on payment basis, as value added service. Each customer is provided bill and digital mode of payment is also accepted.
The facility was inaugurated by Ali, a luggage porter working at Bengaluru for nearly 25 years at the bike packing office in the presence of Divisional Railway Manager Ashok Kumar Verma and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Krishna Reddy.
