BWSSB chief say 10 tmc ft will be piped
To assuage the water scarcity of Bengaluru city, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB) has decided to draw water from Sharavati, around 330 km from the state capital, near Shimoga.
BWSSB chairman Tushar Girinath announced the plan during the special BBMP council meeting held on Saturday to discuss the water issues of the city.
Replying to a query, he said that the action plan was being made ready and around 10 tmc ft of water would be drawn from Sharavati. “The plan will be ready by this month and we will take steps to target the next 10 years,” Girinath said.
