BENGALURU:
As part of its ‘ Swacch Bharat’ obligations, KSRTC has converted a scrapped bus into a ladies’ toilet. BIAL paid the conversion cost of Rs 12 lakh as part of its CSR.
Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Laxman S Savadi inaugurated the ‘Stree Toilet’. Shivayogi C Kalsad, Managing Director of KSRTC, Dr Ram Niwas Sepat, Director (S&V), KSRTC, Venkatesh T, Director (P&E), and Hemanth, CSR Head, BIAL, were also present.
The bus has 3 Indian WCs and 2 Western WCs, an incinerator and a saniatary napkin vending machine.
The solar-powered bus has lights, a wash basin, a baby-nursing area and a diaper-changing area.
The bus will be stationed at the Kempegowda bus terminal 1.
