Riot accused ex-mayor was discharged without informing the cops
BENGALURU:
Six representatives of Baptist Hospital, including doctors and management officials, appeared at the CCB office in Chamarajpet on Monday in response to a notice served on the hospital.
The CCB had served the notice after the hospital failed to inform the sleuths about the discharge of former Congress mayor Sampath Raj, who is one of the accused in the DJ Halli-KG Halli riots case. Raj is accused of having instigated a mob to burn down the house of his own party MLA, Akhand Srinivas Murthy.
Hospitalised for Covid
Sampath Raj had earlier been admitted to Baptist Hospital after he tested positive for Covid-19. CCB officials had then gone to the hospital and instructed him to inform them before he was discharged.
However, unknown to the sleuths, he was discharged on the night of October 29, and has been absconding since then.
