Belagavi/Bengaluru, July 12: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has expressed concern over the alleged irregularities in the counting of donations collected in the donation boxes at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, describing the incident as unfortunate and calling for measures to ensure that such incidents do not recur.

The issue figured prominently during the concluding day of the RSS Annual All India Prant Pracharak Meeting held in Belagavi, Karnataka, where RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale and 226 senior functionaries participated.

According to an official statement issued by the RSS, participants expressed grief over the alleged irregularities reported in the counting of offerings made in the temple’s donation boxes.

The meeting noted that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and police investigation, initiated at the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, were progressing and expressed confidence that the probe would reach a decisive conclusion.

The RSS also said it expects the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to put in place adequate safeguards to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.

The organisation said it was important to protect the faith and deep devotion of millions of Ram devotees associated with the temple.

Apart from the Ram Janmabhoomi issue, the three-day meeting reviewed RSS organisational activities undertaken since March 2026, including 83 Sangh Shiksha Vargas and 12 Karyakarta Vikas Vargas, in which 18,842 volunteers received training in areas such as organisational work, village development, family awareness, disaster management and environmental protection.

The meeting also reviewed the implementation of organisational plans at the shakha level and discussed a nationwide expansion strategy to increase the number of RSS shakhas during September as part of its centenary year outreach.

Senior functionaries further deliberated on the remaining programmes planned during the RSS Centenary Year, which will continue until Vijayadashami on October 20, 2026, and discussed Dr. Mohan Bhagwat’s nationwide travel programme for 2026–27.

According to the RSS statement, discussions also covered the upcoming Census, demographic trends, growing concerns over drug abuse, the need for de-addiction initiatives and programmes planned to commemorate the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Ravidas.

Note: The RSS statement refers to alleged irregularities in the counting of temple donations. Investigations by the SIT and police are ongoing, and no final conclusions have been announced by the investigating agencies.
