Roaming without mask, spitting attracted Rs 600 fine
SHIVAMOGGA:
The Shivamogga corporation has come down heavily on people not wearing masks or spitting on the road. On Thursday, a fine of Rs 600 was imposed on a localite for spitting in the open and not wearing a mask while roaming outside.
The Shivamoga authorities have fixed the fine for spitting out  gutka at Rs 500 and Rs100 for not wearing a face mask.Â
The new policy of fines has worked to raise awareness about the virus among people with the tagline — ‘this before you split’.Â
