Riot accused dies from blunt injury, was Covid-infected
BENGALURU:
A 24-year-old youth arrested in connection with Tuesday’s riots in KG Halli and DJ Halli died on Saturday from the effects of a blunt injury. He had tested Covid-19 positive.
Sayyad Nadeem of KG Halli was produced in front of jurisdictional judicial magistrate and sent to judicial custody. “As he was complaining of chest pain, stomach pain and breathlessness, he was brought to Bowring Hospital for treatment. He was operated on for a blunt injury (not a bullet injury) and was under observation,” said a police officer.
“He was found Covid-positive and did not respond to post- operative treatment and died,” the officer added.
