Responsibility First, Not Position: BY Vijayendra on Speculation Over Second Term as BJP State Chief

Date:

Bengaluru: Amid speculation over his possible continuation as the BJP’s Karnataka state president for a second term, BY Vijayendra has said that his focus remains firmly on fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to him, rather than chasing any position.

Speaking to reporters, Vijayendra said, “In a democracy, the responsibility of the opposition is no less than that of the ruling party. Over the last five to six months, I have worked with full dedication to highlight the failures and misgovernance of the Congress government.”

Reflecting on his tenure, he added, “I am confident that I have carried out the responsibilities assigned to me as a party worker with commitment and sincerity in the last quarter. The central leadership has always kept me informed and guided me accordingly. They have appreciated our efforts and encouraged us to continue on this path.”

On the question of his continuation, Vijayendra noted that the BJP, being a national party, takes a collective decision. “The opinions of all district presidents and party leaders have been collected. Whoever is selected, it will be in the best interest of the party. I am confident the final decision will be announced shortly.”
