Karnataka also logs highest-ever 19,067 cases, along with 81 deaths

BENGALURU:

Bengaluru on Sunday logged its biggest single-day spike of 12,793 new cases of Covid-19 and 60 related fatalities, taking the total number of infections to 5,46,635 and the toll to 5,123, a Health Department bulletin said.

Bengaluru Urban had previously reported its biggest single-day spike of 11,404 cases on Saturday.

The day in Bengaluru also saw 2,560 patients getting discharged after recovery, taking the total discharges to 4,43,614.

According to the bulletin, Bengaluru has 97,897 active cases.

Karnataka reports 19,067 cases

Karnataka on Sunday logged its biggest single-day spike of 19,067 new cases of Covid-19 and 81 related fatalities, taking the total number of infections to 11,61,065 and the total dear toll to 13,351.

The state had previously reported its biggest single-day spike of 17,489 cases on Saturday.

Among the deaths reported on Sunday, 60 are from Bengaluru Urban, three each from Mysuru and Dharwad, two each from Ballari, Vijayapura, Yadagiri, Koppal and Uttara Kannada, and one each from Tumakuru, Mandya, Belagavi, Bidar and Chamarajanagar.

Mysuru accounted for 711 fresh cases, Kalaburagi 671, Tumakuru 494 and Bidar 469, followed by others.
