BENGALURU:
Within a span of 24 hours, another dreadful ‘record’ was set by Karnataka, when it crossed the 5,000 mark with 5, 030 Covid-positive cases on Thursday, exceeding Wednesday’s ‘high’ of 4,764. Expectedly, Bengaluru accounted for the lion’s share with 2,207 fresh infections.
Karnataka also reported 97 deaths, of which the state capital accounted for 47, taking the mortality rate both statewide and in Bengaluru to 1.81% and 1.83% respectively.
With the fresh 5,030 positive cases, Karnataka’s total tally has swollen to 80,913. The state now has 49,931 active cases while Bengaluru has 29,091 active patients.
