Quarantined journalists’ second test comes negative
36 journos were contacts of infected lensman
BENGALURU:
In a major relief for media professionals, especially in the state capital, 36 journalists, who were quarantined after coming in contact with a Covid-19 positive video journalist, have tested negative.
All the journalists were from regional Kannada news channels. In the same connection, five ministers of Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa’s cabinet were also under quarantine, and resumed official work on Wednesday after their second report cameĀ negative.
Karnataka Department of Information and Public Relations Joint Director DP Muralidhar said, “36 media persons — who were primary contacts and were quarantined after a camera person tested positive forĀ Covid-19 on April 23 inĀ Bengaluru — underwent a medical check-up for Covid-19 at Sir C V Raman General Hospital at Indira Nagar in Bengaluru on Tuesday, and their tests came negative on May 5.”
