Passport offices shut till 31st March

In view of the corona virus outbreak, the Regional Passport Officer, Bengaluru has appealed to applicants to refrain from visiting the Passport Seva Kendras till 31st March.

A tweet from the RPO states, “In view of Covid-19, citizens are urged to refrain from visiting Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs). The cap on three max reschedules has been lifted. Applicants can reschedule their appointments to a convenient date when the situation improves.”

Additionally, all 23 POPSKs in Karnataka are closed till 31st March. Applicants with scheduled appointments are requested to reschedule to a later convenient date.

The Consular Passport and Visa division, Ministry of External Affairs, has tweeted, “In view of the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, applicants are requested to visit the PSK/POPSK only if they require the passport for urgent travel and not to visit if they have high fever.

“Applicants are further requested to reschedule their appointment to any date on or after 7th April. Restriction on the number of re-schedulings allowed for appointments has been relaxed. Appointments for ‘Enquiry’ at Passport Offices shall not be opened till 31st March.”
