Padarayanapura corporator discharged after testing Covid-negative
Imran Pasha becomes the first politico in Karnataka to be infected by coronavirus.

BBMP corporator Imran Pasha of the ‘infamous’ Padarayanapura ward is the first politico in Karnataka to be tested Covid-19 positive.
His test result came late on Friday, but official confirmation would come only on Saturday afternoon in the health department’s bulletin.
A senior officer told thebengalurulive on the condition of anonymity that, Now, an associated concern is that several senior officers working in BBMP’s estate wing and some from the education department were in regular contact with Pasha.
“Apart from Imran Pasha’s family members, some officers are also under the scanner and are being treated as primary contacts. His contact tracing is also underway,” the officer said.
Padarayanapura is one of the containment zones in Bengaluru ever since a surge in Covid-19 positive cases was reported from there in the last 2 months.
Miscreants in the locality had attacked BBMP health workers and officials who had gone there to put suspect cases into institutional quarantine. Over 120 persons were arrested in connection with the riots.
Imran told thebengalurulive that for the past few days he was feeling breathlessness and also he was using Asthma Inhaler though he is not asthmatic. “On Friday evening I went to get my medical check up in one of the private hospital close to Vidhana Soudha. As per Chamrajpet MLA’s suggestion I went ahead with Covid-19 test which came as positive. I am getting admittted in Victoria designated hospital. Despite My ward badly affected with Covid-19 positive cases, I never gave up and took lead to tackle the deadly disease in my ward and today I am infected with it,” he added.
