Met department predicts more rain on Wednesday

BENGALURU:

Torrential rains lashed the city till midnight on Tuesday, disrupting normal life in almost all parts of city.

Heavy rainfall was reported from Majestic, Wilson Garden, Basavanagudi, Banashankari, Hanumanthanagar, Malleswaram, Chamarajpet, Girinagar, Rajajinagar, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Koramangala, Shivajinagar, Ulsoor, Sampangiramanagar, Jayanagar,Yeshwantpur and Sadashivanagar.

In one incident in Rajaram Mohan Roy Layout on Lal Bagh Road, a couple had to empty rain water from their house till Wednesday morning, after no help was forthcoming from the civic authorities.

Other affected areas were Sudamanagar, Lal Bagh Road and Shantinagar. Roads were inundated and bikes were submerged, while rain water entered many houses.

Heavy rainfall was also reported on the outskirts in Peenya, Dasarahalli and Bagalagunde, and in Bengaluru Rural district.

Heavy rains in Bengaluru are forecast for Wednesday by the Met Department.
